The blurring boundaries of Enterprise Security Risks

Risk Group Founder, Jayshree Pandya Ph.D  discusses ” Enterprise Security Risks” with Brian Bobo, Vice President, Enterprise Security at Schneider National on Risk Roundup.   Introduction The Digital Global Age has pushed the traditional boundaries of each and every enterprise across each and every nation: its government, industries, organizations and academia (NGIOA). As the emerging borderless world redefines the very parameters and perimeters of an Enterprise, managing the undefined and undocumented borders and securing them in an increasingly borderless world has become a complex challenge. Building, Managing and Securing any Enterprise in a borderless world is complex as it requires not only understanding of a world that has triangular linkages between geospace, cyberspace and space, but also has dotted and solid line reporting relationships between an enterprise and NGIOA. When any single Enterprise across any NGIOA tries to secure its undefined and porous borders amidst dotted and solid relationships, the intended, unintended and perverse consequences are creating a challenge in defining, building, managing and maintaining a stable and sustainable Enterprise Security System. The focus here on an Enterprise Security System, is to emphasize that it is the enterprise, its ideas, initiatives, relationships, and activities that are to be secured in a digital global age, and that the security of data, computers and networks is only a means to this end.
