Energy Warfare

Risk Group Founder, Jayshree Pandya Ph.D, discusses the “Energy Warfare”, with Honorable Branko Terzic, a former Utility CEO, Commissioner on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Commissioner on the State of Wisconsin Public Service Commission and currently a Managing Director at Berkley Research Group on Risk Roundup.   Introduction Science and Technology innovations have always been the backbone of economic expansion across nations. From flying shuttles to the spinning jenny, the electric motor to the diesel engine and in recent times the internet and the internet of things, each innovation has fundamentally transformed nations while ramping up the economic engine. Innovation has always been and still is undoubtedly an important driver of economic growth. While the world is hoping to trigger large industrial innovations on the back of climate regulations, the reality remains that the nations currently live in the “Fossil Fuel Age”. The journey of hydrocarbons that started approximately a hundred and fifty years ago to now has been filled with major controversies and complex relationships between regulators and the regulated. The current climate of “regulatory carbon capture” brings not only the fossil fuels industry, but each nation: its government, industries, organizations and academia (NGIOA) its own sets of opportunities as well as risks. Many oil producing nations seem to be in visible turmoil. If stability, security and sustainability are to be achieved, it is important to identify, evaluate and understand opportunities as well as risks facing the energy industry today and in the coming tomorrow.   Copyright Risk Group LLC.
